About Us

Always fresh but with deep roots in Austin, Reform Pilates offers a modern, individualized approach to your Pilates workout.

Our Method

Our instructors bring deep experience and a customized approach so that each class has its own vibe. The studio offers reformer, mat, chair, barrel, and cadillac equipment—plus free weights and TRX (R). Each workout will be unique, whether you’re in class or in a private 1 on 1. No cookie-cooker repeat workouts or fitness plateaus here!

We pride ourselves on our deep knowledge of the body and musculoskeletal system. You will walk away with a better understanding of what your muscles are doing when you move—and bonus: it will make your workout as effective as possible. Think of it as Pilates with a mini anatomy lesson!

Our instructors listen carefully to you, and our expertise allows us to tailor each workout to the unique needs of the class or participant. Whether training for strength, rehabbing or preventing injury, or doing Pilates to feel good, we have an instructor and class for you. Welcome to the Reform Pilates community!

Our Team

Amy Graves

Amy is certified through Pilates Sports Center. She discovered Pilates years ago as part of her rehabilitation from a back and hip injury. After practicing the Pilates method for several years Amy realized how much it had to offer the overall health of body and mind, and wanted to share this with others. She is so grateful to be a part of her clients journey towards wellness. Amy holds a certification in TRX® Suspension Training as well and enjoys biking, hiking and yoga in addition to Pilates.

Cara Copeland

A former dancer with the New York City Ballet, Cara is certified through the Pilates Center of Austin and holds a BA in Humanities from St. Edward’s University. She enjoys sharing the benefits of moving mindfully with all curious students, including those rehabilitating from injury and recreational or elite athletes. Cara sees Pilates as not only exercise but also a way to explore the connection between brain, body, mind and perception. She believes that a consistent Pilates practice is a means of self-discovery that allows us to change the way we move and go beyond what we imagined possible.

Dana’s passionate about working with all ages and finding balance through movement awareness.

Elisabel Balbuena

Elisabel is a new Balanced Body Pilates instructor originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, now based in Austin, Texas. One of her favorite parts of being an instructor is watching her clients grow and develop as practitioners and individuals – learning how to trust and connect better with their bodies. To her, Pilates is a vital form of self-care, essential for maintaining both mental and physical alignment. Outside of the studio, she works full-time as a chemist and enjoys spending time reading, engaging in different forms of movement, or relaxing with her boyfriend and cat.

Jenny Kornblum

Jenny decided to turn her passion for Pilates into a new career after many years as a successful restaurant manager and sommelier. She joined the team at Reform in 2017 and is certified through Peak Pilates. Jenny thrives on the mind-body connection that Pilates provides and is passionate about teaching others how to revitalize themselves through balanced movement. Jenny is the Studio Manager for Reform, running the day-to-day operations, schedules, and communications.

Lauren Alexander-Labahn

Lauren Alexander-Labahn is a Pilates teacher and social impact professional who discovered Pilates through the side door of yoga. In 2008, she earned a yoga teacher certification. In 2011, she tried Pilates and discovered the reformer was home. After ten years of a Pilates practice, she completed her Pilates teacher training program with Lee Vallely. Lauren considers Pilates one of the most health-sustaining practices she has found, supporting her through pregnancies and births as well as life’s ups and downs. Lauren believes Pilates is for everyone and every kind of body. She makes it her mission to meet her students where they are and challenge them to experience new ways of moving that will help them discover their strength.

Maricarmen Wilson

Maricarmen brings a wealth of experience with certifications in Pilates Reformer, E-RYT, Body by Breath®, Roll Model®, YTU Core Integration, and YACEP. She has been practicing and teaching the physical and meditative arts for over 25 years. She loves designing a blend of classical and modern practices to deliver challenging, fun, unique experiences with her clients.

Veniese Razo

Veniese holds a comprehensive Pilates certification and has been teaching Pilates since 2019 in many different places such as LA, Houston, and here in Austin. She comes from a more ‘contemporary’ background but enjoys teaching and learning many styles of Pilates. Her love of Pilates started as a journey to find a job she truly loved. She continues to love Pilates because of the wonderful ways she can help others learn about their bodies, feel more in control of their movements, and to create a safe, inclusive space no matter their goals. Veniese strives to have her clients leave having had a great workout but also feeling seen, included, and more confident in their movements and minds.
